Take That, Dude! dot com

OMG. TTDFF was Awes. I was ROFL! :P AFAIC, it was KB.

But also, it was truly a sight to behold for yourself. Growing from an
impromptu drunken gathering in a living room to a full out drunken
fiasco in a backyard with projection screens and live web streaming in
only 3 years, The Take That Dude Film Festival has proven it’s
versatility and that it’s here to stay. All of the films entered in
the contest showed the care and planning that had gone into them,
revealing the passion this crowd feels for Take That, Dude! Special
Guests and a keynote speech from Sean Tomazin, the Father of “Take
That, Dude!” highlighted an evening of comedy, music, and drama found
in the fan films. By the time the 2nd screening of TTD began to
unspool the audience had completely given themselves over to it,
shouting lines in unison with the actors on screen and giggling with
anticipation for what would come next. In someone else’s hands, TTDFF
could have easily devolved into a mean spirited night of ruthless
competition, violence and bloodshed, but under the glossy yet watchful
gaze of David Mickler, Festival Organizer and President, a calm and
easy going feeling was felt by all. Mickler, 27, is the original
creator of the Festival and couldn’t have been more proud of the
turnout. “Well, I originally created this Festival,” Micker stated,
“And did you see that turnout? I couldn’t be more proud.”

Following the 2nd screening of TTD, the audience was shocked at the
reveal of the night’s surprise guest, Ryan Burke, who played the lead
character of “Scotty” in “Take That, Dude!” Participating in a Q & A
session along with Tomazin and famed Surfer #1, Pascal Cooper, Burke
politely fielded questions from the fevered crowd before joining the
party himself, and it’s safe to assume that he found the evening
stimulating. The fan films, with over 33% more entries from the
previous year, offered a wide display of style and appreciation for
“Take That, Dude!”, covering such notable topics as the casting of the
Bartender in TTD to suggested alternate usages for the phrase “that
that, dude!” in everyday life. One in particular showed the dangers
inherent in prophylactics.

Overall, “The ‘Take That, Dude!’ FIlm Festival 2010” was an amazing
success. One can only hope that the excitement and creativity present
this year will spill over into next year. Start planning those fan
films now!
